UN: At least one million women and girls have lost access to critical humanitarian support since January 2025 as unprecedented aid cuts push women's organizations in crisis zones to the brink of collapse, the UN’s gender equality agency, UN Women, said on Friday.

The epitome of the Gall of Whiteness is that were calling him Maine’s Mamdani while Actual Mamdani was & still is being presented as a danger to people & couldn’t even get endorsed by his own senators.

On Instagram, @mainedsa.org has released a statement on the U.S. Senate race. They stand with Jenny Racicot and called on Graham Platner to step down. Very important note: Maine DSA endorsed only one candidate during the primary election cycle: Troy Jackson's gubernatorial bid. #MESEN

Part 1 of 3 of the statement by Maine DSA:

Working class power does not and has not ever depended on a single person.

The power of the Platner campaign was undeniable, but that power does not come from the candidate; it comes from the tens of thousands of Mainers who were inspired by the campaign's platform and urgency.

Over the last year, everyday people who had long ago written off electoral politics have shown up and worked to build power on a scale Maine has never seen before.Part 2 of 3 of the statement by Maine DSA:

Maine Democratic Party Leadership has a choice: Nominate an establishment candidate who offers excuses, not answers, and ultimately loses to Susan Collins; or offer a candidate who harnesses the still-growing momentum, follows the platform that is so energizing to voters in Maine and across the country, and takes our state back for the many, not the money.

Our real path to building power is uniting around the platform that DSA also fights for: Universal Healthcare, an end to senseless wars, and the transition of power from the ruling class to the working class.Part 3 of 3 of the statement by Maine DSA:

Our hopes have never rested on one figurehead, but on our collective will to fight for a better world.

That world is possible, but if we want to see it, it will take all of us.

13 Democrats are shitting their pants over the NYC primaries. They should absolutely be mocked and shunned. But those 13 -- some of whom are just candidates themselves, not elected members of Congress -- are not "the Democratic Party" Don't give their whining more weight than it has.

Progressive Dems and socialists are proving that political limits are often just choices made by people in power. Voters are not asking Democrats to offer less. They are rewarding leaders bold enough to fight for more. open.substack.com/pub/distills...

MAMDANI IS PROVING THE EXCUSES WERE ALWAYS A CHOICE

Decades of political gaslighting have been exposed about what government can do and proving voters are right to demand more.

Brad Lander understands more than just about any other politician right now the challenges of being a Jew torn between an illiberal, violent state that claims to be acting in our name on the one side, and genuine rising antisemitism on the other.

"This isn’t an easy line for candidates to walk. Israel and AIPAC are popular targets for conspiracy-mongers. A Democratic House candidate in Texas, Maureen Galindo, recently pledged to turn a former ICE detention facility into a prison for “American Zionists,” most of whom she says are probably pedophiles. (She denies she is antisemitic.) Criticizing AIPAC may now be good politics on the left, but it remains fraught, especially at a time of rising anti-Jewish sentiment around the world. “I feel queasy talking about it, given the antisemitic tropes at play here about Jews and money and power,” Lander says. “But I have to.”"

Mamdani: "Solidarity with a government that is committing genocide is a very different thing than a question of solidarity with people of a specific faith. I'm proud to be a mayor of the city with the largest Jewish population in this country."

Still not turning it on because I don’t want to fuck up the juju, but I’m doing that New York thing where I open my windows and listen for the yelps to my neighbors
