Payment‐based open access is biasing scientific participation from the Global South in ecology
Opening access to the products of scientific research is widely considered a key step toward both fairness and better science worldwide. Since the 1990s, different forms of open access (OA) to journa...

I spotted these from the bus last week. and went to investigate today. All now well past their best but an incredible 100+ Bee Orchids on various traffic islands on the Sheepscar Interchange in Leeds City Centre.
Lo and behold this snake DID eat a deer mouse we tagged two days ago. We know bc our scanner found the mouse’s microchip in the snake’s belly. With enough similar data, we can ask about food preferences for snakes and/or if there are any mammal traits that make them more likely to be prey! 🧪
Today, looking for Sphagnum moss in the Alt Pirineu (high Pyrenees) natural park. At least two species found, plus many others mosses and liverworts. #bryophytes #mosses
A nice patch of Herbertus aduncus subsp. hutchinsiae (Juniper Prongwort) on Craig Cywarch 12.6.26 ,the only patch i came across ,still good tp see it another north wales site 🏴 @bbsbryology.bsky.social
