There is no version of yourself you could become that would satisfy the people who hate you. So you might as well be who you are.

After 15 years of people only caring about the externally visible parts of my code and trying to convince them that the inside matters.... It's very weird to hear the same people be loudly vocal about the inside of it.

One of the most enjoyable activities! But the funders/producers/managers in my teams always see me going into the code-hole as unproductive and undesirable. Any time they heard the word refactor or modeling it would come with winces and teeth sucking. Over time it felt less great.

Literally what fandom discourse has turned into I fear.

Many of the cases of AI Psychosis I've seen in my circles are a result of both Anti-Intellectualism and Gatekeeping removing the space that previously existed for "casual theorycrafting" that used to be commonplace before google and youtube.
