Attorney. Cat mom.

Long story short: military news in America is functionally dead, replaced by short attention spans on social media and bought up and gutted by private equity. I sometimes have meetings and calls with folks who want to start up some kind of news outlet. Like the X-Files "I want to believe" but don't.

As mentioned in my comment on USPS's new ballot rule, the American postal service was born in 1774 _because_ the alternative system (the Crown's post) let the executive decide which mail not to deliver. For a Court riveted by bespoke historical analogs, this rule is 252 years of unAmerican.

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.

There are many lies to point out here, but the one that gets on my nerves is "under budget and ahead of schedule". He uses this one often, and it's always bullshit. The original budget was $200 million, and cost estimates now are about $1 billion. If only we had a White House press corps.

We are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court. The Military/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND! It is something that Presidents have wanted for 150 years, and that the Military has been seeking for the last 100 years. Their wish will soon be fulfilled! Construction is under budget and ahead of schedule.
Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J.

As an analysis by the Center for American Progress indicates, without the Bush and Trump tax cuts, “revenues would be on track to keep pace with spending indefinitely, and the debt ratio (debt as a percentage of the economy) would be declining.”

Yes, this is where we point out yet again that the primary driver of federal debt over the last 25 years has been the huge tax cuts for the rich under W. Bush and Trump.

why did the mainstream media cover the deliberate abandonment of obsolete and decommissioned equipment during the Afghanistan withdrawal as a scandal for the Biden administration yet they do not cover the total destruction of US bases in the gulf by Iran as a scandal for the Trump administration?

Lara Korte, who was just fired from Stars & Stripes, has been covering the relocation of personnel from Bahrain for months and did a great piece today on 1,300 Navy family members displaced from Bahrain who are stuck in limbo given the damage to the Bahrain base. www.stripes.com/branches/nav...

This is one of those moves by the Supreme Court to permit the court in full more time to consider the issue, so it’s not the final word. Still even a temporary “administrative stay” doesn’t make sense given the balance of equities and irreparable injuries. I’ll be doing longer YouTube on it shortly.

I know the Dem instinct is to treat the ballroom as petty distraction - no kitchen tables are involved, after all - but Trump’s megalomaniacal self-monuments are a direct attack on American republican ideals, and initiating a full-bore constitutional crisis to create them highlights how much so.

Monica Crowley suggests Trump might defy the Supreme Court if they don't allow him to build his ballroom: "I don't want to get in front of the president, but I do know that other options are being considered, because the president has committed to the completion of this project"

AP has called Tuesday's special election in a Pennsylvania state House district for Democrat Brandon Dukes. This is a FLIP for Dems. Their 6th so far in 2026 (and in the reddest district so far, this one was +18% Trump), and their 31st since January 2025. The GOP has flipped 0 seat in that period.
