In Minneapolis they're literally shutting down whole blocks and going door to door without warrants. The local TV news channels have segments to explain to folks their constitutional rights in that situation, it's that much of a thing.

I think this is how you win over independents. Not nearly enough people believe in open borders or human rights generally. Lots of people have a basic aversion to living under a ‘papers please’ regime

ICE is accusing the woman who was shot to death by an ICE agent today in Minneapolis of "weaponizing her vehicle" and "attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them -- an act of domestic terrorism"

AOC to @pabloreports.bsky.social : A swastika is one of the clearest symbols of hatred in all of humanity… to remove that designation… indicates a possible collaboration with those very elements, which I think is genuinely frightening to any American.

AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

My god (sorry I’m late on a bunch of this stuff. But wow!) According to this NYT report, the head of the FBI and the Attorney General are holding meetings *in the Situation Room* with GOP lawmakers they are trying to pressure to rescind their votes to release the Epstein info. This is madness.

From the New York Times story on the pressure campaign to get Republicans to reverse their epstein vote

Top officials met in the White House Situation Room on Wednesday with Representative Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican who is backing an effort to force a House vote on whether to demand the release of the files.
She was summoned to sit down with top Justice Department and F.B.I. officials, according to two people familiar with the matter. One of the people said the session included Attorney General Pam Bondi and F.B.I. Director Kash Patel.
Both people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the private discussions.

At the end of the day, the government has just asked its citizens to choose between ensuring the population is adequately fed, or that the population has adequate healthcare, so that we don't have to add taxes to the ultra-wealthy just a little bit.

I hear a lot of liberals who don't have SNAP benefits arguing to keep the shutdown and fighting for healthcare. Valid point: Healthcare is a necessary human right and we need to not make it worse. Counter: we're asking millions to go hungry as a concession to win.

Hey, you guys, I've made a name for myself as a mediocre data product manager. (I truly am an idiot) And, I can tell you this much ... From everything I've read and experienced - too many companies need to invest HEAVILY into their underfunded data platforms and orgs, or else the AI is a money pit.
