People want to memory-hole the 2022 PA Senate race, so here's a refresher: centrists wanted Lamb, leftists wanted Fetterman. His victory was huge for DSA-types. He ran to the left of Lamb on basically everything, he was hailed as a working-class success story, he. was. a. leftist. Now what is he?

I want the same thing every Mississippi parent wants: a good life for my kids and a state where everyone has a fair shot to get ahead. That’s what I’ll fight for every day in the U.S. Senate. And as for a puppy…well, we’ll see about that! 🐶

A useful heuristic for judging economic experts is once someone's lied to you, they'll lie again. Drum them out. Same goes for think tanks. If the name sounds like a bad college rock band, it's probably in the propaganda business. https://youtu.be/bsZmjRkYgTs
Dr. Oz wants to "fix" Social Security by making YOU work longer. He said: "It's worth $1 trillion to our GDP." Translation: workers break their backs so billionaires don't have to pay taxes. Don't raise the retirement age. Scrap the damn cap.
The people of Missouri win. Statewide leadership in Missouri loses—again. The maps are back to how they were before. Thank you to organizers and Missourians—300,000 strong—who stood up for the voices of our neighbors. (h/t MO SOS Hoskins on the baseball bat thing. It’s fun!)
Every Christmas, the Nashville Zoo hosts a glorious event called "Zoolumination," which uses Chinese lantern traditions to light up the zoo ground with stunning light displays. Not this year. The Trump administration denied visas to the artisans who put it all together. #WarOnChristmas
Nation’s largest lantern festival canceled due to visa issues, Nashville Zoo says
The largest lantern festival in the United States has been canceled for 2026.

Dave McCormick pledged to sleep on his campaign bus to prove he still belonged to PA despite not living there for the last 35 years of his life. He didn’t last one overnight on that bus. Still lives in CT. Told a radio station that 1/6/21 wasn’t an attack & defends the pardons 😡
Since becoming president again, Trump has promised: -$5000 stimulus checks via "DOGE dividend" -$2000 stimulus checks via "tariff dividend" -$1000+ checks via "savings" from expiring ACA subsidies -$5000 "dividend" if Rs win midterms No checks have been issued www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-magi...

A dire warning, billionaire criminal Musk has set up a scheme in the form of a website votesafe.org in order to steal voter information. Never click on the link and please share this everywhere so others won’t fall prey to it like so many others.
This story is buried on NYT site. And they write "questionable and provocative" claims If Biden said this the whole story would be about cognitive decline--or outrageous lying.
A new analysis by @propublica.org’s @andreasuozzo.com & Angel Philip shows that deaths from ectopic pregnancy are on the rise — and it’s worse in states with abortion bans. www.propublica.org/article/ecto...

Today, the Heritage Foundation, the org behind Project2025, took credit for driving Lonnie Bunch out the Smithsonian Institution. Bunch was the first African American and first historian to serve as head of the Smithsonian. But sure, tell me again how it’s not about racism.
The 401k was already an incredible gift to the markets, a rapid infusion of inattentive normie money funneled through them. They got lauded for boring decisions and bailed out of catastrophic ones. Let this be another lesson: it'll never be enough for them. "Taking" is their religion, honestly.

“Economic anxiety” has basically always been cope.
A lot of people cannot bring themselves to admit that people don't just vote for the far-right because of left insufficiency on economics. They vote for the far-right because they support the far-right's racist authoritarian agenda.
An OB-GYN sued (often low-income, uninsured) patients for owing as little as $114. He charged them 18% interest. And oh, he had many of them *arrested* if they didn't follow through. That OB-GYN? Republican Senator Roger Marshall www.nytimes.com/2026/09/08/u... Insane story by Sarah Kliff

A lot of far right politics is just becoming a generic "smash everything" button for anti-system voters. The level of success rests, I think, on how much they can convince a broader coalition to be happy with pressing it too.
The appeal used to be anti-Euro, then anti-immigration. Now the AfD has positioned itself as a party for people who are dissatisfied with the status quo for all kinds of reasons. Upset about criminal foreigners? AfD. Upset about deteriorating health care? AfD. Upset about woke whatever? AfD.
This is one of the more coordinated attacks I’ve seen from the Houthis in recent memory. This entire situation is spiraling out of control, and Trump’s only real plan is to promise his gullible sheep that $2 gas is coming. 🙄
A wave of attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthis on Saudi Arabia has wounded 73 people, Saudi authorities say.

The absolute scale of graft in this administration, especially in homeland security. A Lewandoski ally was pulling in 19K a week as a contractor with FEMA. A conservative watchdog group got millions to attack Dems in what was supposed to be anti-terrorism funding.
I tend to go back to the passage of the ACA. Democrats made the biggest change in health care and got punished for it. It wasn't enough, or good enough, so voters voted R. 2024, leftists stayed home, white folks voted Trump. At the end of everything, racism and cruelty brought us Trump.
