This is misleading. If you say the Rhine’ s “water levels drop to lowest level since 1880,” that implies that the river was this dry in 1880. But 1880 is just when we started keeping records! So what you need to say is: the river is at its lowest level since records began.
Six years of lost progress here in Newcastle. Let's hope the new Administration can reverse that.

Wow, who knew that simply asking drivers not to drive wouldn't work. We got straight back across the Tyne with no delay on Saturday, but that's because we went through the Tyne Tunnel. Wonder if Gateshead ever actually spent any of the @ategov.bsky.social money to mitigate the Tyne Bridge works?
Central Gateshead has become a 'nightmare' traffic hotspot since the closure of a busy roundabout
I grew up among Conservative politics. This is beyond that now. Defending a neo-nazi candidate shows how far Badenoch has shifted them to the far right. There is now no difference between her party and that of Restore and Reform. That should not be normalised. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.
If you drive through a zebra crossing, when I'm halfway across it, don't be surprised if my response to your cheerful wave as you continue to drive is one of displeasure. Might have to start carrying a pedestrian brick ™️ youtube.com/shorts/nfdER...

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. You’re only diminishing yourself with comments like this.
The state of this. A lovely day out for Badenoch and Philp, playing dress up and making pronouncements about early release schemes - having left the country with one hundred available men's prison places, after fourteen years in charge. You read that right. One hundred places.
It's been an absolute honour to visit Clacton fewer times than I've visited America, hold zero surgeries and do fuck all for the town.

Reform's vote share in Greater Manchester went from 31% in the local elections in May to 21% in the Mayoral election. I can only think of five million reasons for this.

When you don't recognise that all human life is priceless, I guess it's easy to go from othering minorities to accepting higher levels of human sacrifice at the altar of capitalist greed. All builders deserve to go home safe, at the end of every shift.
Richard Tice would like us to go back to a time when there were seven times as many deaths on construction sites, so a few people make an even bigger profit.
