"The people of the station referred to this as “going walkabout” as if it was trivial, but it was an important part of maintaining their connection to Country." If you read one thing today, take some time to read this from @archaeoiain.bsky.social & colleagues. It reminded me of some fundamentals 🏺

ARC says they’ll announce Centres of Excellence outcomes tomorrow (Tuesday 9th Dec). This is more than 2 months late, most likely due to the new security checking requirements for ARC grants. Centres of Excellence grants also need to have been approved by the Minister.

ARC says Discovery Projects outcomes will be tomorrow (Tuesday). Linkage Projects (2025, round 1) on Wed. Over past ~year, it's often been at about 11am (Canberra). My bot will pick up the change to RMS & post immediately. ARC should email outcomes to lead CIs, but might take an 1hr or so for DPs

This was originally a poultiggery. The base a home for pigs and the top for hens. The pigs keep the hens warm in winter. A bit of vernacular gorgeousness from Cowside in Langstrothdale, Yorkshire Dales.

It's funny how I tend to remember the NME being very hard on us at this period, but here's Each and Every One in their Top 50 singles and Eden at no 20 in the Best Albums, so memory plays tricks. We remember bad reviews more. So it's fun to see this.
