Dear government, don’t send startling, high-pitched alerts about wildfires to ordinary people's phones. Send them to the CEOs of fossil fuel companies and make them impossible to switch off until they stop the destructive plunder that's contributing to climate change.

I am gently and warmly inviting you to evaluate your response to the enormity -- the global, existential, massiveness -- of climate change. Instead of, "this is too big, I can't do this," try, "this is so big, we will do this together."

Smart cities know that, as hot as they already are, they’re just going to keep getting hotter. Greening the city not only cools it down, it cleans the air, quiets the noise, improves mental health & happiness, saves public money, and more. Strand Aldwych, London. 2021 vs 2025. "Bond markets will punish us" story is a myth for any country that issues its own currency. In 2016 The Bank of Japan owned around 44% of Japanese government bonds and set yields (interest rates) wherever it chose. The bond markets had no power to resist this.

The FT asked 10 fund managers which of the frontrunners to replace Keir Starmer would trigger the most negative bond market reaction. The results were clear-cut ... but at odds with Polymarket predictions. Read the story on #FTEdit 👉 Who do gilt investors want to lead Britain? ft.trib.al/tpYc6Np

We call it "the circular economy" today, but one day we'll just know it as "the economy". The way things always used to work, but better! Products and services built for quality and made to last. Great to join this vibrant Sustainable Resources APPG panel discussion in the Lords today.

So excited to cut the cable at the launch of the Fixing Factory at Florentina Village. What a way to celebrate Circular Economy Week! Our take-make-waste culture is unsustainable. It also costs the Earth. Literally. Watch out for further comms - get involved!

London's updated #VisionZero plan shows 20mph zones cut child road deaths by 75% & overall casualties by 34%. But with 110 people still killed on our roads last year, we need urgent action on safe speeds & street design. The data is clear - let's act on it. 🚸
