1/ At #EASP2026? Help demonstrate STIGMERGY by playing the INTERACTIVE GAME on my poster tomorrow Thur 2 July @ 10:50am (Poster 51) Choose a little homemade boat, help label it, and move the boats around. If it works, and if enough people pass by, this will become a stigmergic system. How?
The better news is that a decent fraction of the social psychology community said "enough!" in the 70s and revolted. Rejected experimentation & moved over to (various) qualitative methods. Some dodgy, others now mature and productive (eg Discursive Psychology, Conversation Analysis).

That means putting the right supports in place now: charging infrastructure for heavy trucks, depot grid connections, purchase grants or leasing support. The government has very little control over the price of oil, but it can control over how dependent we remain on it.
European power prices are split since the US-Iran conflict. Gas-reliant markets like Italy and Ireland have seen high prices (€140/MWh) while renewable rich regions including Spain, Portugal and Sweden see far lower prices (€40/MWh). These are average wholesale daily prices (8am to 8pm).
Earlier this month, output from solar farms started exceeding 1GW for the first time. Yesterday, we saw another important record set: around 1pm, solar output was equal to almost a quarter of the island's electricity demand. ☀️ 🔋
Cities don’t fail women by accident, they're designed that way. And unless we plan mobility through an intersectional lens, we’ll keep reproducing the same inequities. @eiturbanmobility.eu teaches a more inclusive approach to mobility planning combining heart, head, and hand. READ: bit.ly/4bqXBYY

Let's see why clean energy technologies are so much more energy secure than oil. A single solar panel (450W) costs about €100, same as a tank of petrol. How many EV kilometres can the solar panel power compared to the tank of diesel? Take a guess while I work it out on the back of an envelope.
In my @irishtimes.com op-ed today I argue that our climate law is the best framework we have for making energy secure and affordable, because it tackles the root cause of our vulnerability to energy shocks - our dependence on fossil fuels. www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026...

Hannah Daly: Irish people are again paying a high price for our reliance on fossil fuels
But renewable energy relies on resources that will never run out and cannot be cut off as act of aggression
