I’m looking for a gig. Here’s a detail of a short story i’m working on now. I LOVE short stories, love them!!!! but i need one of those big things like a miniseries or something to survive. Thanks for the consideration.

Detail from a black and white comic page showing a beaten and bloody guy in a dark space with torches

one of the things we need to come to terms with in animation is that the streaming bubble and online platforms have made expectations so large, and that the outsourced pipelines are so bloated and wasteful - that audiences are prepped for impossible output and quality.

With the ghost in the shell remake, I'm fondly remembering a snooty upperclassman in college berating us for drawing anime fanart, and when we called hypocrisy over his ghost in the shell fanart in his portfolio, he said it didn't count because the IP was "underground" 🙂‍↕️

The very first person to run a marathon, Pheidippides, died shortly after completing it. A 100% fatality rate at that point in time. Imagine being the second person to run a marathon.

Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.
