Hey yall, ai scam emails are getting clever. there are scams now where they pretend to be a publisher interested in you/your book, and because ai can read your book and draft an email, it feels legit. But it’s just a grift. Stay vigilant! I got one about my old Japan book and my red flag went up.

On the topic of AI for research Last week someone couldn't remember a show they liked, but they remembered the actor, but no amount of prompting would give them the name of the show. I let them go for like 5 minutes before I went to IMDb, and found the show by checking the actor's credits -_-
if you think using an LLM is better than a standard search engine or a trip to the library I genuinely think you're too stupid to know you're stupid also you're proofreading something that's causing climate collapse. are the data centers stealing water and making noise torture really worth it?
Ophie Dokie 🌻@ophiedokie.bsky.social · 5d agoSo, ok, a thing about telling yr audience "i use AI for my info gathering/research but then I look over it and fix any errors" is that you unfortunately told me youve outsourced your knowledge base on this subject to the machine, and therefore I have no reason to believe you CAN catch those errors
I cannot stress enough how immensely proud I am of our entire team. Everyone's been beyond passionate, brought so much to the table, and been relentlessly kind. I can't wait to make this ridiculous show a reality. Love you all.

Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.

I hate that storyboards have become expected to be final clean animation poses with breakdowns in perfect perspective. this is not how it was supposed to be. let the animators animate! (I say as both a boarder and an animator)
Rachel Green@rachelgreenart.bsky.social · 6d agoI love how the previous generations of storyboard artists were allowed to draw silly cartoon characters on flat wobbly backgrounds, but now we have to learn how to draw the most realistic anime proportions and perspective ever to even be considered for a job
Really happy with how this one turned out. Like I say in the post, some of these scenarios would make for a great workplace comedy if this wasn't the stupidest timeline irl.

Someone once sent me an idea for an Infinity Train car that was like word for word something we were already thinking of doing and then I had to skip the entire concept because I couldn't get over the fear of that person suing me or something.

Apple asked us during the production of Camp Snoopy season 2 if there was an opportunity for an original song, and we immediately thought of the Joe Cool episode we’d just finished storyboarding. There’s no cooler dude than Mayer Hawthorne, and he knocked it out of the park with “Icewater”.
