I predict at some point when someone goes to melt all this down they’re going to find it’s only minimally gold and cut with tin or something. Paid for on the books at gold market prices of course. Just another facet of the omnigrift.
Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino posted this video of the Oval Office and it somehow looks even more embarrassing than I realized
Interesting observation today reading something from someone I followed pre-LLM who has gone deep down the LLM rabbit hole. I can no longer *hear* their voice when I read their stuff. Normally I auralise people’s writing in my ‘inner ear’ in their voices if I’ve ever heard them speak.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing half the population that the "manly" way to get around is on a giant rolling couch controlled by gently depressing your toe.
If you think e-bikes are a hazard for teenagers, wait until you hear about cars.
Mr Andersen, your LinkedIn posts have recently fallen below the standard 100% positive sentiment score to 98.3%. We believe you have bypassed your LLM, and are writing posts by hand. Please reset your LLM to the standard configuration to continue to enjoy the benefits of existence. Have a great day!
New from our team: For decades Australian house prices have grown. This is what a fall could mean --- Over the last six years, house prices have more than doubled in Brisbane. “It feels like the game’s rigged against us,” he says. “Houses need to fall for it to be a reasonable thing for […]

We limit the speed of ebikes "for public safety", yet this study shows we'd need to limit SUVs to 5.7 km/h for them to pose the same risk to other people #motonormativity findingspress.org/article/1587...

Ford has rehired hundreds of senior engineers after replacing them with AI backfired and has cost the company billions of dollars. AI adoption is blamed for Ford being the most recalled automaker in the U.S. with 51 recalls covering over 11 million vehicles in the first half of 2026 alone.

I’ve watched that same Socceroos game at least half a dozen times. Big match. Strategy is field an AFL team, and dominate with a physical defensive game. Undone early by a fast passing game. Panic sub the attackers in the second. Flashes brilliance in the chase, teasing what could have been. 🤦♂️

Took some time to slow down and write some good documentation and tests for a little side project, and as usual this process highlighted several areas for improvement. I can't think of a time this *hasn't* happened.

To management, I say "I use AI techniques to ___". It's just my shell scripts from 2001 that still run perfectly everyday. I don't tell them that AI in that sentence actually stands for already implemented.

There is no way to design a administrable support system that gives everyone precisely the support they need. The barriers for entry you establish must result in either: - an accessible system which sometimes gives more than needed - an inaccessible system which sometimes gives less than entitled.
