Two to savour from @4thestatebooks.bsky.social American Hagwon by Min Jin Lee is as absorbing as the blurb promises. With The Art of Fielding Chad Harbach created characters in a world many of us never wanted to leave. His latest is as good. What will you read next? 💙📚📖 #booksky #bookblogger

Now reading: Free Food For Millionaires by @minjinlee.bsky.social. Pachinko is one of the best books I've ever read, so I'm super excited for this one. Clocking in at 646 pages it's another meaty tome and I can't wait to devour it.

As a teenager, I dreamed of having my fiction published in The New Yorker. The short story “Testing” adapted from my forthcoming novel American Hagwon appears in the July 27, 2026 issue. Four decades later and not too late.
Currently finishing Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. Devastating. I've had to put the book down several times to cope. The author paints family so well. I know the studies say men don't read fiction, but I'm adding sexy, exclusive book club to my dates. Tell me what you're reading; let's discuss, naked.

I saw chaos inside and outside of the ICE detention center Delaney Hall today. Detainees protesting the lack of due process, the disgusting food and poor treatment while their families and advocates stood outside calling for help. 1/4
