Not an artist, journalist, or celebrity, nor a prolific social media presence. Transplant from !Twitter. Consuming to survive. Sharing what seems relevant or refills my own well.

Communities are taking on Big Tech — and winning. Nearly 50 different data center projects totaling $156 billion were blocked or stalled thanks to local opposition last year. Some of these projects were set to receive taxpayer funding. Never doubt the power of organizing with your neighbors.

it genuinely sucks that basically nothing on the internet works well anymore. search? barely works. social media? filled with garbage engagement-bait designed to game the algorithm. news websites? pages that refresh at random or so covered in video ads that it’s impossible to read stories

Some of your co-workers may feel like they are alone in secretly desiring to resist. Show them that they are not. But, *DO NOT* condemn or shame them if they slip back into status-quo-speak, for they are only human. Just remind them.

Many of us are echoing @timothysnyder.bsky.social's lesson in On Tyranny, "Do not obey in advance.” A no less vital admonition that deserves attn: STAND OUT “...without that unease, there is no freedom. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."
