Fun fact, Genevieve 2026 is the third Genevieve in a row (after 2014 and 2020) to reach Category 4+ intensity.

Now a Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph. The National Hurricane Center forecasts Genevieve to peak with 150-mph winds, just shy of Category 5 status, but says “it is still possible that the peak intensity forecast … is conservative, given the favorable environment.”
