I've been asked about this paper (www.nature.com/articles/s41...) enough times that I finally had to read it. The basic claim is that mRNA vaccines had huge synergistic benefit with checkpoint blockade against lung cancer melanoma. tl;dr it's glam-slop & everyone involved should be embarrassed

It’s a big week for mtDNA @nature - tumours taking up mtDNA from the stroma is an increasingly established phenomenon (without much solid mechanism yet), but the backflow of mtDNA into immune cells is an intriguing observation. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
