The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.

There has been little mention of the 72 people who drowned or were crushed trying to reach Ceuta last week. A shocking figure that's been eclipsed by right wing press fear mongering. The incident and how it started is now coming under welcome scrutiny www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

Respiratory infections are, in fact, stifling. Using "stifling" as a metaphor — to describe criticism of reckless, selfish responses to the pandemic, and the loud, constant demands for the latter — is the kind of epsitemic slippage that reveals discourse as propaganda.

No need for anyone to agree with me - but some of the responses to this on here reminds me just how stifling and absolutist a period in our national discourse Covid was.

Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

I think of it a little differently. As in, reforms simply do not happen in the absence of (fears of) an uprising. To be at all successful, reformists require radical movements. Radical movements do not need reformists (esp those unable to strategise, who always punch down and left).

I have constructed a very simple and badly formatted flowchart so that liberals can understand the position of leftists on the Democratic party

Events like the mass disorderly and deadly crossings in Ceuta are the result of hard borders (as are “small boats”). And they will continue happening as long as states have hard borders that people want to cross.

Posobiec's long-winded diatribe — Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them) — with a preface by JD Vance, is nothing more than an effort to dehumanise the enemies of fascism, real and imagined. A call for mass murder.

Trump administration friend and TPUSA hype-man Jack Posobiec is back hyping the fascist Franco, who mass murdered over 100,000 people, burying them in unmarked graves
