I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
It's an utter indictment of whatever passes for the Left that so many are opposed to, imho, a baseline of working class politics.

Respiratory infections are, in fact, stifling. Using "stifling" as a metaphor — to describe criticism of reckless, selfish responses to the pandemic, and the loud, constant demands for the latter — is the kind of epsitemic slippage that reveals discourse as propaganda.

I think of it a little differently. As in, reforms simply do not happen in the absence of (fears of) an uprising. To be at all successful, reformists require radical movements. Radical movements do not need reformists (esp those unable to strategise, who always punch down and left).

Events like the mass disorderly and deadly crossings in Ceuta are the result of hard borders (as are “small boats”). And they will continue happening as long as states have hard borders that people want to cross.
The point of "lab leak" theories is to treat xenophobia, geopolitical conflict and, not least, borders as healthcare measures. Implicitly or explicitly, where "foreigners" are regarded as the disease. As it happens, I wrote about this in Pandemonium. www.plutobooks.com/product/pand...
