A second character, on the beach, is obfuscated by a pillar of flame.Pixel-art screenshot from the game Vermilion Sea. Two characters are standing in front of an announcement board in a Chinese-styled courtyard. There is an an illustration of a young man with black hair wearing armor in the bottom-left of the image. A dialogue banner extends across the bottom of the image. It reads: "Taelun — It feels like only yesterday that you were so nervous to come here and check your examination results..."Screenshot of a combat preview screen from the game Vermilion Sea. Two boxes on either side of the screen display information like weapons, damage, hit rate, critical hit rate, and HP. In the background is a pixel-art map of a dungeon, dimly lit by torches.Screenshot of a level-up screen from the game Vermilion Sea. A UI box shaped like a scroll covers most of the right half of the screen. It says "Jiayun: Disciple, LV 2." It also displays a list of stats, labelled "HP," "STR," "PIE," "SKL," "SPD," "DEF," "CHA," and "FOR." Some of the stats are highlighted in green and a small green arrow pointing upwards is displayed next to them. An illustration of a young woman with pink air dressed in armor covers most of the left side of the image. A dialogue bubble beneath her reads: "We'll make this work."

Today marks the 2nd anniversary of ILION's 2.0 website! ❄️ 07/31 ❄️ I've been so busy, so I haven't been able to update as much as I'd like, but please look forward to new Ilion updates in the near future! There's a new facility on the horizon~ I wonder what it could be? 🐶♨️

If a team makes a game that gets great reviews and doesn't sell, that's a biz failing but the silver lining is you caught lighting in a bottle -- protect that team! It's worth its weight in gold. If you jettison the team but keep the biz people, I don't know what to tell you

Not touching the solo dev discourse outside of snarky comments during the show but do want to ask when did we decide '30 devs' was a *small* team??? Napkin math, 30 dev core team for 3 years => $10-15M budget depending on location, excluding any O/S spend or marketing

i miss the early internet. people were like “you gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.” and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.

A former French military base, Vauban is a thriving neighbourhood of 5,500 residents connected to Freiburg town centre by bus and light rail. Built in the late 1990s as a radical experiment in low-car living, it forgoes virtually all on-street parking in favour of active, green, and social spaces. 🧵
