In a time when even the locker room celebrations can feel performative and staged, Abner Uribe pouring champagne on a local reporter's head before answering interview questions feels like peak Milwaukee/small market energy.

Case in point. I just received this text. Sherrod Brown is running in Ohio. I have never lived in Ohio, tho I’m sure they’d take my money anyway, as they reallyx6 need it: “We really really really really really really need you to give $10 to Sherrod Brown's campaign today: i.sherrodbrown.com”

Early voted today. Does this mean the daily texts from local candidates will stop? Probably not. Does it mean the 3x day texts from a candidate in a state I’ve never even lived in will stop? Definitely not. (I just got another one.)

Today in #museumlife I’m a day away from a bucket list trip & wrestling with something re:grant writing & AI that I can’t outline here. Let me just say: if anyone burns it all down—all the LLMs, data centers, environmental destruction & theft—while I’m gone? I’ll be a lot more likely to come back.

Well that was weird. (I totally understand the science behind the condensation on the court. What I don't understand is why no one who staged this thing had a plan to deal with it. Oh, excuse me, I mean a *plan that had a chance of working in this particular environment*.)

"Volleyball continues to push the boundaries of what's possible..." Emily Ehman says as Wrigley fills w/fans wearing red. Nebraska doesn't play til the 2nd match but we all know which fans are filling those stands. & Nebraska's outdoor match 3 yrs ago is the reason this 1 is happening. #92003

Since moving to Wisconsin I’ve learned of the tradition of having sporty watch parties in the garage/driveway in all kinds of weather, so tonight I’m embracing that and listening to #HuskerVolleyball start their season while I sit out in my driveway and watch the lunar eclipse.

Spending Friday night like it’s 1993–building Scully’s lab. And while my Lego expert nephew will laugh at me for sorting pieces by color and shape, I have to. It’s what Dana Scully would do!

A Lego minifig of Dana Scully Hilda a list while she surveys color coded piles of Lego bricks that will become her lab.

I don't want a "Smart Fridge" that orders milk for me. I want a fridge that lasts 25 years and doesn't have a privacy policy that allows it to share my late-night snacking habits with my health insurance provider.

Wow, our field trip for tomorrow, which was going to be 90 minutes outdoors, cancelled because of the air quality issues. I think it's the right call, but I'm kind of surprised they actually made it. Stay safe out there, everyone.

I finished a thing. Meant as a HS grad gift for my sis, now a fully tenured professor(& 1000% awesome). Stroke of Midnight by Teresa Wentzler, over 2 on 25 ct. (over 1 on the face and dress bands), approx. 15x19". Had to improv in a few places; still in shock that she's really done.

A cross stitch piece depicting Cinderella running down the stairs of the castle after the ball. The prince is in the background. Cinderella has auburn hair and is wearing a purple dress with floral bands at the shoulders, waist, and hemline, along with a pink shawl. The castle windows glow yellow and there are potted plants in the background and foreground. It took me 30 years, off and on, and more than 44K stitches to complete.
