Most unexpected favourite is ‘with or without you’ in The Americans series finale. A song I didn’t think of as much as I do after watching that episode, especially the scene in the train. Spoilers etc. : youtu.be/e6lhceVpluQ?...

So much spin in my inbox on the ‘new and improved ABA’ - which is the same as the old ABA. Listen to your autistic kids and adults, folks. Not to proponents of a PTSD inducing, dehumanising practice that was developed by the guy who created conversion therapy.
Turns out "autistic children don’t gain skills in navigating the wider world when subjected to ABA; they are treated, still quite literally, as rodents to be 'conditioned' to conform to non-autistic expectations." From @ejwillingham.bsky.social in this week's TPGA newsletter. Share and subscribe!
No culture shock for this, I guess.
Another protest movement that the regime weaselled its way out of--they removed the accused rapist from his post (after brutalising and smearing the protesting wrestlers who were his victims), but their courts have ensured he's fine.
never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.
Yep. The dichotomy is dismissive of nuance and diversity within neurodivergence. It perpetuates the idea of a deficit - a problem to be solved. Makes it easier to dismiss ND folks’ abilities and their self advocacy on one hand, and ignore actual struggles and support requirements on the other.
The low-high functioning dichotomy really feels like the system's way of determining which disabled/neurodivergent people are worthy of personhood and who they're safe to discard. It's fucked up.

Al Jazeera, owned by the extremely rich Qatar, just dumped 25 of the most at-risk journalists in the world during a genocide that has directly targeted more journalists than most states since WWII combined.
Al Jazeera’s outlets ended their collaboration with 25 journalists, photographers and contributors in Gaza. What’s the story behind this decision?
‘Is it a social construct?’ is how bad faith actors are are attacking the rights and bodily autonomy of neurodivergent and disabled folk, trans folk, women, poor people, immigrants etc.
Channel 4 has announced documentary “The Great ADHD Myth?” It “seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct.”
Glen Hansard. What a loss. So incredibly sad.

Inquilab zindabad! Did not think I’d see any kind of BJP loss in my lifetime, let alone such a thorough (and joyful) decimation. It’s just one resignation - nowhere near enough. But we know how fucking monumental this is. I hope this is the beginning of something and not the end.
It began with exam paper leaks Then came the lathis, the tear gas, the pellet guns Instead of emptying #JantarMantar, the crackdown convinced thousands more to join the protests & led to Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, writes Sabah Gurmat article-14.com/post/the-end...
This. An election now, wouldn’t go any differently. The voting majority is more concerned with drowning themselves in Hindu-Muslim than asking for accountability. But a lot of ‘apolitical’ folks were radicalized today. If thats directed towards elections, eventually it could count for something.
Being active in student politics in the BJP era, I have realized that protests are extremely important, but what this government fears more is an electoral defeat. And that's the reason India stands in the typology of "electoral autocracy" more than anything else. The power that BJP exerts... (1/4)
Young people putting their bodies on the line, while standing up for their rights, are being tear gassed and lathi charged. Children as young as 12 years old. The state will not tolerate dissent or protests (that matter).

Surveillance and biometric collection disguised as…phrenology? Um, ok. So they’re not even pretending to disguise the bypassing of individual autonomy. None of these conditions require invasive procedures for diagnosis. Eugenics all the way down.
Hemispheric “has raised $52 million in funding after gathering data on 100,000 people’s brains to train deep learning models to examine the brain without the need for invasive procedures.”
Today I found out that babadook wine party lady later went on to create Widow’s Bay. And it all makes sense.
