did the milwaukee brewers close the hell portal the chicago cubs opened in 2016

Chris Pappas is NOT the first gay senator, do not disrespect Tammy Baldwin like that.
Non-jinx posting to keep the status quo. Posting as benignly as possible. There are too many melons in fruit salad. Things of that nature.
My customary election eve pumpkin muffins appear to have turned out nicely SIGNS AND PORTENTS
I've been compulsively refreshing election websites all night since 2004. You can't scare me
Man, I’m handing out ramen (in addition to candy) every year. The teen trick or treaters are SUPER into it
Sorry, I'm out of candy, but would you kids like to hear me read “The Hollow Men” by T.S. Eliot?
If there is one thing I could change about how the public and academic communities view librarianship, I just wish people would start from an assumption that the librarians know what they’re doing and have approached the issue with professionalism. And maybe have information that other people don’t.
Asking around in every way I can think to - is anyone aware of an academic library with a written policy about use of generative AI in public service interactions? I’ll take public library, too, esp a big system, but anyone? Anywhere?
Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.
:: hears random neighborhood yelling, checks the score :: (Go Brewers!)
Found out that a generative AI company with a product marketed for higher ed research has been misleading patrons into emailing my library’s reference service about the end of a subscription we never had for their product. Sent a VERY cathartic Friday afternoon email about all of that
"...anyone submitting ten papers a year isn’t reading enough to have something to say." I don't agree with everything in here, but damn this if this isn't a good line and one I wholeheartedly agree with. informationmatters.org/2026/09/an-e...

Just voted in-person absentee in the lobby of a public library. 10/10, no notes, would recommend
I’m from Milwaukee, I had an ‘82 pennant on my bedroom wall, and my parents used to take me to County Stadium all the time. I don’t follow baseball, but this is neat #Brewers
I work at a library that offers 24/5 hours during the academic year. It is SO HARD to maintain the staffing to make this happen. This take irritates me whenever I see it
"Libraries should be open late as an alternative to the bar" is going around some groups I'm in again and I just Y'all can't convince enough people to fund libraries to be open during the day with reasonable pay and expectations Where do you think you're finding night shift premium pay money
I don’t think we’re capable of having the public, constructive conversation we need to have about the intersection of whiteness, maleness, and neurodivergence and how it’s playing a huge part in :: gestures at everything ::

There’s no A.I. “literacy”. There is only power, to either rebuild or eradicate commonly shared knowledge production. They haz it. Remains to be seen if we haz some too.
As a fellow Badger has won the Nobel, I present to you, in old joke form, the feeling it inspires - Q: How many UW-Madison faculty and staff does it take to change a lightbulb? A: 10. One to change the bulb and 9 to stand around saying, “See? We did that just as well as they would have at Yale.”
Who can take a Sunday nap when furniture assembly is happening?
I participated in some public library ai courses. I’m telling you that the state of literacies and the complexity of lives deeply enmeshed in the bowels of late stage capitalism cannot find a use case for an agent & if they could, people don’t have the scaffolding to imagine one that could be useful
