30s (big aged), US-based. Haladriel and Rings of Power hath eaten my brain, but I love sci fi and fantasy! Same handle on the bird app. I am still hooked on Tumblr- maeday1551.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

one of the great joys of fandom in the batshit nightmare times were living in is that it’s a fundamentally communal art form. it’s making stuff purely for your own creative fulfillment and to make your ten favorite weirdos happy, and I think that’s beautiful. it’s such a necessary escape these days

you know, if you are so desperate to give constructive criticism to fanfic writers that you insist on leaving it in AO3 comments, there’s always authors looking for a good beta reader! If nobody’s asking you to be *their* beta reader perhaps take that as feedback on the quality of your concrit.

happy 48th birthday to our ethereal elven princess liv tyler; thank you for bringing arwen to life in such a meaningful way, and for inspiring so many girls like me to love and cherish the fantasy genre growing up alongside miranda otto and cate blanchett ♡

I gotta say I find a lot of AI discourse around higher ed very confusing. "if ChatGPT can write your essays is college even worth it?" did people think math teachers were assigning problem sets because *they* couldn't figure out the answers?

kind of funny that americans think that once you become mayor, you can just enact sharia law. like zero understanding of the legislative process. just raise your hand and say "ok it's sharia time now"

If you think it can’t happen here, remember that it already did. In 1942 soldiers came with rifles to our home and ordered us out. They put us in internment camps. Most of us were citizens.
