Proud momma of a sheepadoodle. . . and three teenagers. I don't do "crazy". Hoping to survive this sh*tshow with humor and action.

If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today. That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right

Again, the first Tea Party rallies in April 2009 -- heavily promoted in advance by Fox News -- only had about 300,000 attendees across 750 cities, but the media treated it like the Second American Revolution. There will be multiple *individual* No Kings rallies today that have more people at them.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

🧵🧵 This thread highlights some of media people and organizations energetically covering the Trump regime’s campaign to terrorize Chicagoans. These folks are well worth a Bluesky follow. Of special note is Unraveled, the kind of independent journalism we need when some legacy outlets are in retreat.

ICE/CBP is rampaging through the burbs again this morning. Sightings and kidnappings reported across Bolingbrook, Summit, Addison, Bensenville, Melrose Park, Brookfield.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

Heads up, Chicagoland— ICE is OTG again, someone just spotted the Chicago ICE SRT guys (not National Guard, impt reminder) alongside other federal agents arresting someone in Cicero. There's also a report of one arrest in Little Village.

Possible to start to tell a unified story: "Trump is personally too old, crazy, and confused to run things, so at any given time the question is which co-president is in charge. At first it was Musk, & we got the crazy chaotic DOGE era. Then Navarro: a trade war that crashed markets. Now Miller..."

Everybody should feel bad for the white supremacist billionaire who destroyed government programs that kept starving kids alive and lined his own pockets in the process. You’re doing great work there.

Can we please stop talking about Jake Tapper now? I mean really, is there anything of value here? And I'm completely baffled by why anyone would watch @cnn.com anymore. Yes, they were the gold standard of TV news for a couple of decades, but for the last three years they've been unwatchable.

Elon Musk's only real business, Tesla, receives the vast majority of its revenue from the single vehicle model that Elon Musk personally advocated against developing because he thought it was too "boring" (Model Y) The dude was never great at business, but he has been washed for a solid decade now.
