Fuck the EHRC, fuck Labour, fuck the Supreme Court, and fuck everybody else that made it happen or stood by and did nothing

Major oil firms make $93bn profits in just 3 months amid war and climate crisis. They shift profits, dodge taxes, fuel poverty and inflation. They don't bear the social cost of their business. Forever holding people/govts to ransom. Polluters must pay. Need windfall tax now.

This is what they expected and wanted to happen: that members of the public, shown the cops would take their side if they kicked off and went mental at anyone they suspected of being a transgender, would then start going apeshit en masse and enforce their wacko ideas for them.
I signed the petition calling on Andy Burnham to kick the controversial US tech giant Palantir out of our NHS and police! Their £330m contract is a total bust: the tech is rubbish, staff are boycotting it, yet they still have access to our private health data: act.38degrees.org.uk/act/Kick-Out...
Andy Burnham: Kick Palantir out of our NHS!
I just signed the campaign calling on the Prime Minister to kick Palantir out of our NHS and police, can you ad your name now?

"Dehumanising politicians is the first step towards justifying their elimination" Wait until Gaby Hinsliff hears about the Guardian's reporting on trans people! 😒
"Dehumanising politicians is the first step towards justifying their elimination" ... what, like they do for trans people each and every day? Not justifying anyone's murder. I just want trans people to have human rights.
Fascists want fascism and even if the person who can give it to them ran on a ‘punching babies in the face’ ticket, they would still vote for him.
I don’t see how you can look at this and not conclude that the British elite has deliberately and calculatedly rehabilitated extreme racism and fascism into the mainstream, to help them fend off the left, because Thatcherism has collapsed into slapstick travesty. That is clearly what has happened.
Knitting. Crocheting. Old records (and other old dusty things). An unexpected queer love story. Folklore. The sea. Walking. A hyper-intelligent semi-aquatic cryptid. Abandoned buildings. Community. Silliness. Crows. If you like all, or even a couple, of these things, you might well enjoy this book.
My latest novel is published in paperback on July 2nd. If you pre-order from Blackwell's they'll send it with FREE international delivery & that will help the book get into shops blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/pro... Charles was on the edge of his seat, open-mouthed, all the way through (see alt text).
Absolutely raging at the fox scarer the neighbours have put up. Not only are my autistic ears super-sensitive to it, it’s psychopathic behaviour to refuse to co-exist with creatures whose destroyed habitat you’ve chosen to live in. Nature isn’t meant to exist only at your comfort and convenience.

The EHRC’S new code has been published. We’ll have a detailed analysis out shortly. The guidance has been toned down from the previous draft – but it still treats trans people like they’re a third sex. This pushes trans people out of public life and violates their human rights.
Given the choice between Wes Streeting and being kicked half to death in a piss-stained stairwell, I would take the pissy stairwell every time.
Well that was a very conveniently timed passassination attempt.
On top of reasons of role deconstruction and bodily autonomy, this is one reason why it's so important to many people in power to eradicate trans folk. If you're secure with yourself, feeling good BEING yourself, they can't tell you you're broken and then sell you a "fix"

On the lookout for a couple of decent books on Irish history, one all encompassing from prehistory to now, one focused on the 20th to 21st century. Preferably from an Irish and anti-colonialist perspective. TIA etc.
