Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social · 3mo agoTHERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON HERE THAT WE CANNOT EXPLAIN. The economy is not in a recession. The economy is not worse than 2020 or 2008 or 1979. Whatever is happening here, it cannot be plausibly attributed to people’s real lived experiences. There is some other factor causing this collapse.
Well at least we now know what losing campaigns think of non voters.

We don’t waste money contacting you, knocking your door, trying to figure out what you want. You’re a political nullity, triaged away in favor of consistent voters.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com · 4mo agoit speaks to the criminal nature of Trump 2.0 that nobody close to him is ever actually fired because it's too risky for them to be fully on the outside. Instead, they get reassigned to cushy fake jobs to keep them onside.
Will Stancil outspent his opponent and still lost and came to the conclusion that money in politics isn’t important. The other conclusion would have been that no amount of money would make people like him.
If a candidate came to you they’d be asking for advice about how to lose.
Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social · 4mo agoIf a candidate came to me with this idea I’d strongly recommend against it because I wouldn’t want to gamble that a compliance screwup would send the candidate or their treasurer to jail. This isn’t just some theoretical, minor risk.
To believe this shit that Bill Pencil is spreading you would have to believe that it’s just a funny coincidence that the same people taking millions of dollars from AIPAC also happen to suddenly be OK with burning children alive in their hospital beds.
Yeah! That would be like taking money from AIPAC and NOT using it to support genocide.

The last time I remember Americans voting for a candidate because they actually liked the guy was in 2008 and after that debacle they seem to have decided never to do it again. These days it’s just one hatefuck election after another where voters vote against the other party.
Will forgot one important thing the internet brought us: Keyboard dweebs who look to antagonize people for the clicks they get in response.
