"YELLOW BUG"
Driving up next to a yellow bug,
I was completely starstruck,
The car itself looked super vintage,
The driver looked around the same age!
I poked my head out into the heat,
My words had to travel through the street,
"I LOVE your car!!!" I yelled with a wide smile,
Thinking that shade of yellow's totally my style!
I love the matte finish of the paint, too!
My aunt used to have one, but hers was blue,
Although she wasn't always kind to me,
Somehow the bug doesn't bring back bad memories!
I excitedly barked, "Are you the original owner?"
My giggle wiggled its way into a laughter,
The lady enunciated with her mouth and her hands,
Fifty-something years the bug's been with this woman!
"Is this yellow her original color?" I continued to pry,
"Yes, she came this way," the lady proudly replied,
Suddenly, the red light turned green,
The cue for us to exit this nostalgic scene,
I yelped, "Thank you so much! Have a good day"
We quickly said our farewell and went our separate ways.
