one common thread (among the horrifying many) between the numerous ICE shootings/murders is that no first aid was administered to the victim. armed combatants of the government shot to kill, and if they didn’t kill right away, they gave time for it to happen anyway. it is absolutely grotesque.
I think the Internet has failed when I do things like look up if there's a parody of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" but it's Meep Meep and stars Beaker from the Muppets, but it doesn't exist. Does our civilization even matter when it fails like this?
It's kind of sad that number of people that responded to this that were angry that he'd work with other Democrats. As though he could somehow get things done without doing that. That's not how a legislature works.

Even if a candidate in a swing state or district has to dance around the issue to get elected, it's noy remotely a reason for the party as a whole to abandon trans rights. Parts of the county just need to be dragged into the 21st century.

I dislike McConnell as much as the next guy, but people are being pretty gross about his health. He's clearly still very weak, and maybe he'll never recover, but just because of that and him being in a wheel chair doesn't mean he has no desires or can't think.
Albite, the kitten we found wandering outside today, is at tuckered out. Contacted the apartment office to let them know so they can send out an email. She's very trusting and gentle so I can tell she has a good home somewhere.

I've been telling people to be realistic about McConnell because old people take a long time to recover from being seriously ill, and there was no reason to be lying about things. He's just vain about his health. Kept running into people who acted like I was naive. 🙄 Looks like I was right.

We use this assisi loop for Sebastian's chronic pain. I was very skeptical about it when the vet suggested it but it is maybe as effective as all of his other pain management together. EM + pain relief has usually meant woo nonsense. There are apparently studies that back it up though.

Andrew Werling@awerling.bsky.social · 2y agoAs someone with an eating disorder, I cannot in good conscience follow people who make jokes about peoples' bodies...fat, thin, etc. Using a person's weight as an insult, even if they are a terrible person, is implicit agreement that body type is fair game against anyone.
I think people need to remember the the MAHA leadership is s bunch of eugenics hacks, but the broad city support across the political spectrum is loosely collected groups without any firm ideology and about 2 years old.
Political violence has no place in our democracy. I’m glad Dr. Amy Acton is safe and grateful for the swift response from law enforcement. We settle our differences at the ballot box, not through violence. These acts must never be tolerated or normalized.
