An Irish artist has helped establish a children's centre in Gaza that provides food, education and psychosocial support to children displaced by the war. Adam Doyle, better known as Spicebag, tells us why he helped create Ionad Hind Rajab. jrnl.ie/7117887

'They're just kids': The Irish-backed centre giving Gazan children a place to play

Irish artist Adam Doyle, aka Spicebag, says Ionad Hind Rajab is about giving displaced children “a break from the horror around them”.

Constantly left astonished at Western reporting on people seeking asylum. 54 HUMAN BEINGS dead in an unbelievable tragedy at Ceuta and the media insist on leading with 'MIGRANT INVASION'. You inhumane bastards. What if they were your loved ones? When empathy gives way to hate, we're all doomed.

Please email Irish Ministers to express disapproval of this draconian application of immigration laws on people who have lost absolutely everything but are expected to provide original documentation. If Irish unis are willing to take them the govt shd be! Sample email: tinyurl.com/GazanStudent...

What Féile an Phobail row has shown is that women’s rights are at risk — just not from a tiny trans minority
Belfast Telegraph27 Jul 2026ALLISON MORRIS
I’ve thought long and hard about commenting on the controversy over the cancellation of the Women’s Rights Network (WRN) event at Féile an Phobail — not because I don’t have an opinion, but because it is a debate that attracts the most toxic elements.

WRN NI was not a group I was familiar with beforehand, so I did some research.

No speakers were listed in the Féile programme for the planned event, which in itself is odd as there are for almost every other of the 90-plus debates and discussions.

The group has since announced who its speakers were to be in a series of online posts.

My research took me down quite the rabbit hole — a who’s who of the anti-trans movement not just on this island but Europe-wide.

I don’t pretend to understand their motivation.

In fact, I remain baffled as to why in one of the most dangerous places for women to live in Europe, the group — which has spoken out about femicide before — is obsessing about a small minority instead of the actual dangers we face from domestic violence and femicide.

I have worked for decades covering violence against women and girls in all the distressing forms that takes.

I know the names of every woman and child murdered in Northern Ireland in the last 10 years without even having to look them up.

Not a single one was caused by a trans woman — I checked the list twice just to be sure.

None of them were murdered in a public toilet either, which having looked at the online posts of WRN and their many affiliates, is apparently the most dangerous place on earth for women, with trans predators lurking in every cubicle.

Apart from the absurdity of much of the group’s argument regarding the perceived dangers of trans women, the claim that women are being silenced by Féile is the most disingenuous of them all.

Idk. Maybe Gaia is herding all the rich people to some distant rocky island paradise with no drought, but a secret volcano in the making underneath so she can off them. As long as trillionaires have somewhere to run, this won’t change until we MAKE it change.

Landscapes once entirely non-flammable habitats like natural forest or bog, now highly combustible open grasses/gorse or Sitka, coupled with increasingly frequent extended droughts due to climate breakdown. What could *possibly* go wrong? www.rte.ie/news/ireland...

Absolutely disgusting that Ireland is profiting from companies that enable Israeli genocide. Guess it explains further why the govt has been stalling on the Occupied Territories Bill for all these years… www.thejournal.ie/isif-ireland...

Irish sovereign wealth fund still investing in companies linked to Israeli settlements and genocide

The fund’s shareholdings in five companies listed on UN databse rose by almost €1.5 million last year.

Today is the 11th anniversary of the Gender Recognition Act here in Ireland. I will always celebrate this day as the State finally recognized my gender. Decades of campaigning led to the Act. I owe a debt to those who went before me We were the 4th country in the world to bring in such legislation

While anti-genocide campaigners were prosecuted in their 1000s in Britain, this is on the streets of Belfast right now. When Benn & Starmer refused to call a COBRA meeting following the paramilitary-backed ethnic cleansing of the Belfast pogroms in June - it was a green light to loyalist terror.
