Cornfield communist. Avid supporter of putting the boat back in the Suez.

In the past week my family: 1. Didn’t even text to see if I was ok after the nationally significant chemical leak. 2. Completely ignored some of the film photos I sent them from Ireland. I was proud of how they turned out. Crickets.

THEM: “Don’t worry, it’s not your grandparents’ kind of polka!” ME, growing veggies, studying languages, trolling racists, and community organizing just like my Polish Jewish ancestors: “It’s not?!??”

I occasionally get ads for a polka band that say “don’t worry, it’s not your grandparents’ kind of polka!” I don’t think these people understand what it is that appeals to me about polka

I know I don’t have children, so I am considered less important to society as a whole, but every year I cover for people who have kids while they take their summer vacations. It’s fine. Taking your kids on vacation is important. I can’t take time off when school starts back up. HOWEVER…

According to the targeted ads I get on my podcasts, they seem to think I am a depressed truck driver who engages in high risk sexual behavior, cannot keep my vehicle insured, and has a busted ass cornhole set.

Hijacker: Everyone stop talking. I am armed and I am taking control of this plane. Guy from the Netherlands: Wow, in Netherlands we just purchase a plane if we want one. But typically we will bike somewhere Guy who has been to Japan once: In Japan planes are rarely hijacked. It's a cultural taboo

There’s something about growing up in the country where my bedroom faced west and I watched every single sunset that makes living in the city and only seeing the warmth of the sun as it lifts off of the treetops at night that fills me with an unbearable sadness I find hard to articulate.

Well, after about of training for this backpacking trip, I have multiple inflamed tendons and feel like I’m in worse shape than ever and my feet feel like they are steps away from collapsing into useless pancakes. Have ten years of office jobs ruined my ability to ever do this kind of activity?

I remember breaking its tears at a restaurant, telling my friend how if genocide wasn’t enough to make her say something, and genocide isn’t enough to change my vote, then what is the point of anything. I would’ve taken anything. I voted for her, it didn’t make a difference and I still regret it.

He's right and this whole thread got me angrier the more I read, more I remembered. Basic human rights thrown out the door for unconditional support for Israel. Going on a love tour with a Cheney. It must be really hard to win an election while you constantly hit yourself in the junk with a hammer

This is misleading. “More than 100 per day” is a statistical error. Average city has zero cars crashing into buildings per year. Columbus Ohio has 10,000 cars crashing into buildings per day and should not be counted.

Cars crash into US buildings at a rate of more than 100 per day. Each year in the US, as many as 16,000 people are injured and as many as 2,600 are killed in vehicle-into-building crashes. www.storefrontsafety.org/crash-statis...
