House Democrats are asking Trump officials to explain how providers’ social-security numbers got exposed. “This is the exact type of data that bad actors have used to defraud the Medicare program,” @neal.house.gov and colleagues write.

In a letter written to Health and Human Services
(HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA),
Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Social Security Subcommittee Ranking Member John B. Larson (D-CT), and Oversight Subcommittee Ranking Member Terri A.
Sewell (D-AL), demanded the Administration answer for yet another exposure of the people's data.
"The mere fact that this sensitive information was sitting on a public website for an unknown period of time raises significant concerns about identity theft for the providers subject to the breach, as well as broader concerns about this Administration's handling of sensitive information, the Ways and Means Democrats wrote. "This is the exact type of data that bad actors have used to defraud the Medicare program, and while the agency is working to remedy the problem, the harm has already been done."

Scoop — Trump admin's new Medicare portal accidentally exposed health workers’ social security numbers. It’s latest setback with DOGE-backed initiative. We flagged the problem to officials two days ago to fix it. with @ence.bsky.social

“We will not tolerate people who come to the District of Columbia to engage in antidemocratic acts of political violence; and we will prosecute all such acts to the fullest extent of the law.” Except for the ones that Trump pardons. Those acts of violence, we're OK with. She forgot that part.

The legal team of the man accused of opening fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last month has asked the court to disqualify top Department of Justice officials from being involved in his case, arguing there is a conflict of interest because they were present during the incident.

The legislature this week rejected a bill to raise the minimum wage above $7.25 and advanced a bill that would criminalize homelessness. I just needed to type that out.

I've found a downside to requiring MFA for everything. When you can't find your phone in the house, you have to actually find it in order to get any useful work done.

You'd think that Trump would want to be very careful about setting the precedent of charging sitting national leaders with crimes in your country, as you know he's committed a lot of crimes and could be charged in other countries.

As President Trump suggests that Cuba could soon fall, his administration has begun exploring whether federal prosecutors could charge the Havana regime or the Communist Party with crimes, according to a person familiar with the matter.
