There's definitely inspiration drawn from NYC, Boston, Montreal, Mexico City, and how they were divided and organized and factionalized into neighborhoods in late 19th/early 20th century, even if that's not the exact time-period influence for the rest of the setting.

@mrmaresca.com You know I'm a massive fan, but I wanted to ask you a random question about Maradaine...how much is based on big cities like NY in the early half of the 20th century. I only ask b/c I had an idea stumble into my brain that definitely has some commonalities with Maradaine!

Texas being low on gun ownership seems off, but if it's "Household gun ownership", then it might be measuring "percent of households with guns" and thus House With A Gun and House With Eight Hundred Guns are counted the same.
