2) You don’t have to vote on everything all at once. The electronic ballot system allows you to save your progress. So you can vote at your convenience and even revise your ballot, so long as it’s submitted by the deadline.

i think people advising that authors are going to be ok because they can explain their creative choices better than a slopper are coming from a good place (and prob mostly right!). but boy do i hate the presumption that writers have to rationally talk through the minutiae of their creative choices.

It is indeed my birthday--my 60th. Woo. It wasn't until recently that I realized how much psychological weight I'd put on being 60 years old. In my mind, 60 is the ending--if you haven't done the bucket list stuff by then, you're not going to. At 60, you can't make changes to your life.
