There are reasons to argue about the logistics of this strategy and critiques you could make but “muh taxes” is aggressively not it

I’ve been slowly poking at King's Field because I was curious where this all comes from, and for the most part, old game jank aside it hasn't been too bad. And then I got to the last floor of the dungeon.
This in particular is TvTropes and CinemaSins ruining people in this specific way, I think. Turning stories into individual components is TVT's whole thing, and CinemaSins makes those components seem inherently A Problem.

Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
Being a parent is pretty tough, but it's all worth it for that moment, every once in a while, when you get to take your kid to the city to see a marching band and say, "Will you defeat them? Your demons and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?"
The idea of a “dungeon” is always going to exist in games, because “the place where the adventure happens” will always be a thing. That’s not inherently colonialist, the Corporate HQ you’re raiding is still a dungeon. We can use a different word sure, fine with me, but the idea will always be there.
