so are we gonna get a bunch of political analysis thumbsucker pieces about the cautionary tale of a promising youngish politico who torpedoed his career by latching on to the biological gender extremists who are attempting to drag the Democratic Party into hugely unpopular political waters or nah

It has long been the privilege of American Jews to have illusions about the political nation of Israel as a sort of pleasant dream, far away, that we can have a basically religious devotion to. That this has been encouraged by Israeli messaging doesn't let us off the hook for going along

But most importantly, for Folk to even reach a tie, he must win the eliminated pool roughly two to one. Frazier needs barely a third of voters who already declined to vote for Folk once. That’s tough math to overcome, no matter how much money Folk has.

Chart titled "The November math," showing how much of the 100,222 votes cast for eliminated Hennepin County Attorney candidates each finalist needs just to tie. Two bars run toward a dashed line marked "a tie — 121,640 votes." Frazier's bar: 87,447 votes from August, plus a hatched segment showing he needs 34.1% of the pool to reach the line. Folk's bar: 55,610 from August, plus a hatched segment nearly twice as long — 65.9% of the pool, roughly two to one. Bold line beneath: anything better than a third of the eliminated vote and Frazier holds a majority. Footnote: holds the August electorate fixed; in 2022 the general electorate was 2.99 times the primary, and the plurality winner gained 21 points.

It sucks that a red state lost two justice fighters, but people need to save their sanity. It was a reminder that political refugees come in all stripes, from our trans siblings to these more conventional families, and this election, we’re fighting for them, and future political refugees, and us.

Democratic activists are too out-of-touch with ordinary Americans. They keep selecting radical leftists and coastal elite socialists as candidates, ruining our chances in the general election. This is why I propose we only allow Republicans to vote in Democratic primaries.
