Wait until he sees the Ashes trophy
This is parochialism at its finest. Tabloid columnist sees the most coveted trophy of the world’s most popular sport and sneers that “this thing designed originally by an Italian artist“ is too small torontosun.com/news/local-n...
Even if you are an AI enthusiast why on earth would you build a data centre here?
It’s time to build.
I'm looking for someone in Vancouver to do a very simple freelance radio/podcast assignment for The Sprawl this week. It involves going to a certain site and recording ambient sound with a Zoom (or something similar). Paid gig obvs. Any ideas? @jmcelroy.bsky.social

For my fellow BCers, it is a *legal requirement* that you yield to a cyclist in a bike lane when turning right. Even if you have your turn signal on. And also just the right thing to do.
If there's a bike lane next to you, you have a responsibility to check that lane before turning. Would you change lanes on the highway without checking your mirrors?
Familiar to anyone who’s biked Vancouver outside of downtown
When the “Neighborhood Bikeway” has ZERO traffic calming. Paint and signs will never be enough.
Got my ticket 🫡
Almost the entire upper bowl is available now (from $47.50). I think we can sell out ALL OF BC PLACE. Dreamed of a day we'd have a match like this with the 'Caps, wow. Also resale tickets are appearing and lower bowl seats near supporters are going for 700% markup 😬 #VWFC @whitecapsfc.com
Great explanation of the shortcomings of this proposed bike infrastructure project
Burnaby is seeking feedback on their Southwest Bikeway upgrades, but some of the proposed options are... not good. If you live or ride through Burnaby, please read and tell them to take these upgrades seriously! visionzerovancouver.ca/2025/10/01/t...
Remind me again how Stanley Park doesn’t need a bike lane? (And also where’s your front plate?)
If, like me, you were worried about the consequences of this, only the car is damaged in the end thankfully
Cyclists, don't forget to wear hi viz!
"A call for power is not He-Man standing in front of Castle Grayskull," David Eby told reporters regarding BC Hydro's new call for 5,000 GW more power.
Today on Vancouver’s “perfect” bike route (plus one driver charging through a stop sign and another double-parked blocking everyone despite ample parking spots nearby)
When the server comes to take our order and I still haven’t decided what I want for my appetizer
COLLINS: Does that mean you haven't made a decision yet on what to do? TRUMP: I like to make a final decision one second before it's due. Because things change. Especially with war.
This barrier is clearly not enough - even just from a financial perspective the amount of money spent repairing it can’t compare well to the cost of a stronger one
Bad crash on the Lions Gate last night, almost certainly involving speed. Really shows the need to strengthen the sidewalk barrier - and to repair the several parts along the bridge that are broken. www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

A recent news story by Global TV involving a collision between a person cycling and a motor vehicle driver on a neighbourhood bike route last year has brought to light critical failures in the interpretation and enforcement of B.C.’s vulnerable road user law.

Great thread. This story also highlights the problem with almost all of Vancouver's "bikeways" - they're narrow canyons between parked cars. This is 10th Ave, the main east-west route in the city, which Ken Sim called a "perfect bike lane" that negated the need for protected lanes on Broadway. (1/2)
A person is injured, the VPD have failed them, "expert lawyers" are misleading the public, and changes to the MVA are pointless unless actually upheld. THREAD 🧵

I don't have a vote in this by-election (due to living in North Van) but if I did I would be very happy to give one to Lucy and OneCity.
If you want an affordable city, where everyone is safe and where everyone belongs, Ken Sim isn’t working for you. We need leaders who are ready to stand up and fight back. That’s why I’m running with @onecityvan.bsky.social for City Council. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGcI...
