If these girls are now married, do you think they tell their spouses about it?
Oh my god I think I found the video.

This is horrible, but the article ends saying the crew were warned that they might be without GPS. If they weren’t able to safely operate the plane without GPS, seems like that’s on them.

Didn’t see the title up top and was trying to figure out how the cover picture related to rural cats.
Look what showed up this weekend! Get @grimalkina.bsky.social’s book it’s gud
The Velociraptor has its deadly sickle claw in the neck of the Protoceratops while the Protoceratops has its beak clamped on the Velociraptors arm. The leading theory of their death is that they were caught in a sandstorm or a sand dune collapsed and buried them in an eternal battle.
You can also use a hair dryer, as hot and as close to your skin as you can stand.
For no other reason than that I have a particular knowledge here: the best way to alleviate poison ivy rash itching is immersing the affected area in near-scalding water. Itch dissipates and stays gone for a while.
Just realized that there’s an interesting amount of overlap between A Knight’s Tale and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

A part of me wants to drive my kids around forcing them to learn the works of Lionel Ritchie and Barbara Streisand like my parents did. “We’re all going to listen to the same thing and backseaters get no votes.”
My kids have no idea. Youngest asked me yesterday “did your parents let you pick what type of vacations you went on and get to go places you’ve always wanted to go?” And I had to explain to him that growing up, the concept of “listening to kids as people” didn’t exist
the searchers all say she'd have made bahrain bay if she'd put 15 more miles behind her
You know the North Koreans have to feel insanely vindicated right now. You know KJU called up the new guy in Iran after the ayatollah got exploded and was like “Hey man, how‘s it going? Another beautiful day in Pyongyang. Clear skies, not a F-35 in sight. Oh? Sorry about your dad…”
Nuclear proliferation is plainly pretty bad but also nobody has done more to incentivize it in the Middle East than the United States
When I said Dude is non-gendered, this is kind of where I was headed with it
As an elementary teacher, pervert glasses are, happily, already banned (along with other electronics). However, I’m not really looking forward to the first parent who shows up to a parent-teacher conference rocking them.
The other thing I think about all the time is how some of us will have to negotiate how we deal with these apps and those glasses in the classroom in the coming academic year.
oh hey turns out the debate’s over - LeBron wins
DOOCY: Where do you stand on LeBron versus Michael Jordan as the best ever? TRUMP: Michael Jordan's a friend of mine, play golf with him. He's a really good guy. and I think LeBron is maybe he's a racist but maybe he doesn't like Trump. I only like people who like me.
My daughter’s marching band is addicted to holding parent meetings that could have been e-mails.
No, No, no. Look, are there lessons to learn from this debacle? Sure. Drone warfare, mag depth, etc. But the solution here is not 'yet more tactical excellence or tech.' It is 'the president asked the impossible of the military and they should have said so.' www.theatlantic.com/internationa...
The War Is Lost. Now Fix What It Broke.
America has to rethink how it moves resources, fights wars, and deters adversaries.

In short, there are valuable lessons we can learn about drones & interceptors & magazine depth & mine-sweepers, etc. But the key lesson is: no amount of tactical excellence can salvage strategic incompetence. Who lost the Iran War? The American voter did, that damn fool. And he ought to feel it.
FFS 🤦♂️ The Pentagon removed the names of 4 servicemembers who died in Jordan from their official list of casualties. They explain that this is because "their deaths occurred after President Trump declared a cease-fire in the war in April." www.nytimes.com/2026/07/23/u...
Number of U.S. Troop Deaths in Iran War Appears Lower on Pentagon Website (Gift Article)
Three military officials and a Pentagon spokesman gave conflicting explanations for why the number of Americans killed in the Iran war had changed.

I come across so many well-meaning takes from parents of neurodivergent kids claiming it's ableist to try and teach autistic kids social skills but I whole-heartedly disagree. You absolutely have to teach these kids, explicitly, about things like nonverbal body language and what it's communicating.
Have encountered a few issues related this in 2026, like a campaign where an organizer was giving unwanted, flirty attention to a staffer... but the organizer was autistic, not a creep who knew what he was doing was making the person uncomfortable.
The joke was, “Donald Trump couldn’t make it tonight. He got caught in sex traffic.”
Whitney Cummings told a few jokes at the expense of President Trump during last month’s Mark Twain Prize for Humor — but one didn’t make it to the broadcast version. The Kennedy Center, now under Trump's influence, has the right to edit content.
extremely funny to me that analysts whose entire job is to think about these possibilities are only now catching up to Bluesky Consensus
RAPIDAN: We “no longer assume a near-term return to freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Instead, we expect ongoing military risks to constrain vessel transits .. well into next year ..” 👀
It’s been a while since I’ve read Clausewitz, but this seems to be not quite right.
Rep. Rich McCormick on Iran: "I'm a big Clausewitzian warfare guy. I believe in dominance. We are the dominant world superpower. These guys are not. I would've been unrelenting until the end."
if a democrat used a racial slur, would we still need to get behind that democrat because "the republicans are worse"? i can tell you that as a black person, i would not. there are things more important than party identity. why are we asking transgender people to do any different?
