This is horrible, but the article ends saying the crew were warned that they might be without GPS. If they weren’t able to safely operate the plane without GPS, seems like that’s on them.

I come across so many well-meaning takes from parents of neurodivergent kids claiming it's ableist to try and teach autistic kids social skills but I whole-heartedly disagree. You absolutely have to teach these kids, explicitly, about things like nonverbal body language and what it's communicating.
