A breakthrough in comp chem! Jiace Sun and Garnet Chan from Caltech developed stochastic tensor contraction and applied it to CCSD(T), achieving a 2.5-32x speedup relative to DLPNO, with ~4x higher accuracy (the latter does not seem to degrade with system size). arxiv.org/abs/2602.17158 ⚛️🧪
