We're at an interesting point in computer hardware. Nvidia was all set to compete with Intel and Apple via a new ARM CPU ... while at the same time, Nvidia has contributed to making hardware prices so high that people will be using existing gear much longer than they usually would.

It's hard, but it is imperative to strive to be the "good guys" in war. Though officers bear the brunt of this effort ---control chaos and reign in the inevitable brutal human impulses--- in democracies, the people ultimately bear responsibility for what is done on the battlefield in their name.

Following the July 22, 1864 Battle of Bald Hill, Sherman was more determined than ever to continue his project of severing the rail lines feeding into Atlanta in support of Hood’s army. Having cut the Georgia RR to the east of the city, he now set his sights on the Macon & Western to the southwest.
