Eclipses are an awesome phenomenon and it is unfair that Spain had a full one and we didn’t. I want a full eclipse in the UK every year and for it to be a Public Holiday.

Emily Sheffield is a prime example of how background and connections in the UK get you to places your talent and ability never would. There is no way she'd have done what she has if she'd not been the daughter of a baronet and the step-daughter of a viscount. Editor of the Evening Standard FFS!!

It was lovely meeting up with Emily the Mastermind of Moquettes for a future favourite station feature.
This reminds me of my favourite story about Bletchley Park recruitment: Geoffrey Tandy was recruited for his supposed expertise in cryptograms. It turned his expertise was in 'cryptogams' i.e. mosses, ferns etc. (BTW it ended well, as a he became an effective Head of Naval Section VI.)

(she's also a professional old person; she was on Good Morning Britain last year, and then also at the Nov budget, and the year before lmao)
It's driving me insane. The govt spends £1.4 trillion a year. Borrowing estimates are often by tens of billions over a year. But we're supposed to imagine money is budgeted to the last penny.

Bad news I think that Hilary Benn is leaving Northern Ireland. NI is in a mess at the moment (no budget etc); Benn got to know it well in opposition and built good relations with the Irish government.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there an inherent problem with a politician hoping to be the next PM shilling for a gold bullion company? As I understand it, gold tends to do well when the economy is in the toilet and PM Farage would want the economy to do well no?
