Absolutely astonished that here on the internet in our year of sorrows 2026 there are people who don't know the writer of a newspaper article does not write the headline. People who write articles in newspapers bang on about this all the time, generally infuriated, how is this news to anyone.

I often take 'accidental' photos of my fingers/hand when I'm using my phone to take pictures. I usually delete them. When I was looking for a megalith pic earlier I found this work of genius.

An iPhone image of my fingers, very close to the lens and blurred. Between them is an excellent shot of Ollie's foot in a brown Converse boot. His shirt, a dark print with orangey red roses, can also be seen top left. This shot would be impossible to recreate I reckon.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. #vinylproject now we’re listening to this. Like all my Stones records, this belonged to my first boss, who gave me all her LPs when she retired. It’s a first pressing, I imagine she bought it the day it was released. She worked for Heinemann in those days.

Like, the idea that I couldn't talk about my own work for HOURS in PAINFUL DETAIL is just ridiculous. (I saw a friend recently who had just read one of my books, she asked me a question about one of the characters and I talked about him for approximately fifteen minutes without stopping.)

For writers worried that they won't be able to "prove" their work isn't Spicy Autocomplete--worry not. You thought about every choice and will be able to talk about those choices easily and clearly. Folks who used the slop machine didn't make choices and won't have anything to say about why
