I've just sent a manuscript off to my agent, which means I can immediately start a new book, hurrah! #amwriting
The @wainwrightprize.bsky.social shortlist is out ... and Stone Lands is on it! AMAZING. Thank you everyone involved in making the book (especially Philip Harris who did the beautiful illustrations) and in selecting it – what an honour this is 💚
When you get two cats, how do they decide which one will have a tiny chirp like a pixie’s doorbell and which one will wail like the ghost of a jilted bride?
I love a sixties house (I live in one) and this is a cracker. Also the patterns are kind of ... great.

is it just me or is this lion giving Jimothy vibes?
This ring, featuring a fragment of gold-glass, depicts a roaring lion. At only 1.8 cm across, the animal is depicted in extraordinary detail. Roman gold-glass images began as parts of glass bowls. Images were made by engraving a picture onto a sheet of gold leaf.

Absolutely astonished that here on the internet in our year of sorrows 2026 there are people who don't know the writer of a newspaper article does not write the headline. People who write articles in newspapers bang on about this all the time, generally infuriated, how is this news to anyone.
I'm in the South of France , where I was introduced to a French person with the words 'and this lady is from England.' 'Yes,' said the French person, dryly, 'I can see that for myself.'
This afternoon I've been creating boards on Pinterest on my crime history and detective work. If you are on there, it would be great if you could follow me, and I will follow you back. uk.pinterest.com/drangelabuck...

When I went to the studio I saw there were a few finished paintings that I wanted to to be in my shop, so I put them there. Jesus and the rainbow window, ancient Norwich houses, Horse Atop the Rooftops. Appreciate all help with my eccentric efforts at being an artist www.chloecumming.com/paintings
Who sells tiny display boxes? I've got this little bisque doll - just under 2 inches tall - and I want something nicer for her to stand in.
I often take 'accidental' photos of my fingers/hand when I'm using my phone to take pictures. I usually delete them. When I was looking for a megalith pic earlier I found this work of genius.

A delicate Lammas dress from 1902 by Gustav Beer, richly decorated with silken wheat stalks, for drinking chouchen and telling fortunes in an old country garden, as a great golden moon rises in the dark Breton sky.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
Wishing you a bountiful Lammastide / Lughnasadh. 🎨 UK postage stamp, 1981 Folklore series
Lee and I are watching The Princess Bride for the 1,000th time. Good lord it’s a perfect film Isn’t it??
#vinylproject now we’re listening to this. Like all my Stones records, this belonged to my first boss, who gave me all her LPs when she retired. It’s a first pressing, I imagine she bought it the day it was released. She worked for Heinemann in those days.
I would really appreciate if people who work with UK human remains (disarticulated or not),would be willing to fill in a Survey on disarticulated remains for me. I'm trying to gage the sectors oppinions and recording methods on disarticulated remains in the UK. forms.gle/4s2Sax8Vxyik...

I’ve added the two Sesame Street based watercolour on Yupo paintings to my paintings shop, both 7 x 7 inches, a practical and excellent size for a thing. Please (speaking to the ether) can I have a positive and vast response! Go my pretties! www.chloecumming.com/paintings
Like, the idea that I couldn't talk about my own work for HOURS in PAINFUL DETAIL is just ridiculous. (I saw a friend recently who had just read one of my books, she asked me a question about one of the characters and I talked about him for approximately fifteen minutes without stopping.)
For writers worried that they won't be able to "prove" their work isn't Spicy Autocomplete--worry not. You thought about every choice and will be able to talk about those choices easily and clearly. Folks who used the slop machine didn't make choices and won't have anything to say about why
Now the sport is over for ten minutes we’re back on our #vinylproject bullshit. I’ve never played this and I’m not 100% certain where it came from tbh. It’s in absolutely pristine condition though.
