Historian, sometimes archivist, animal-lover, Trans ally, annoyingly progressive and unapologetic. Firm believer in socialized healthcare (Medicare for All) and principles of MMT. Would happily eat the rich if it helped make a better world for all.

Congratulations to all the winners in the WC today - but man, I hate penalty shoot-outs. It doesn't seem fair to play a team sport for 120+ minutes and then have the decision come down to a one-on-one. My opinion only, but I wish there were a better way.

What is it with all the Republicans and finger-pointing? Stabbing the air like it will make what they are saying sound true; sound sane; sound well-reasoned and researched. They all do it. All the time. Do they take some sort of class? ‪

It would be cool to have a legislature that acted to defend its own constitutional prerogatives and, maybe as a treat, the interests of the people it represents too.

I find it fascinating that people dismissing concerns over election rigging/attempts to suspend the midterms go straight to "those people just want an excuse not to vote". Dismissing legitimate concern as hysteria seems disingenuous at best and makes me question their motives.

My sincere wish this holiday season is that when this rabid administration is finally brought to justice they are all - all - forced to wear shock collars while awaiting their turn at the bench. That every lying utterance and every foul spew is met with a painful zap.

I used to be a fairly nice person. Didn't wish harm on others, didn't grave-dance (all that kind of thing). Rarely used the term hate' unless it was describing hateful behavior by others or cruciferous vegetables. I am not that person anymore. They have killed the angels of my better nature. 🤬

This is a solid small charity that has raised funds to provide a little holiday warmth to over a 1000 folk over the past three years. Help if you can (very cute cards - or you can just donate a little, if that's how you roll).

If you missed out tonight but still want to support our project Trans Secret Santa - bringing festive joy to trans youth - you can donate here: www.zeffy.com/en-GB/donati...

Since each house of Congress makes its own rules - and they do that only to their benefit - can the states impose rules on their elected members that would trigger an instant recall election if they don't do their jobs - or switch party once elected or the other nonsense they do?

Remember when Robert Byrd would pull out his pocket copy of the Constitution? He wasn't perfect, but he certainly understood his professional relationship to that founding document. I could go for some Constitutional "Red Card" action right now.

Today I checked the status of Capt. Wayne C. Irsch, the USAF officer whose MIA wristband I wore daily for over 25 years and still look at every day. His plane, piloted by Col. Norman M. Green, crashed in Laos in Jan 1968. Capt. Irsch is still listed as Unaccounted. You are remembered.

I regularly boggle at Trump's insane screeds - but this one is terrifying. I'm with Mr. Elias all the way. We cannot play tit-for-tat. We have to snuff out this wildfire consuming our democracy.

Speaking as an old crone - I am so sick of these frowsy MAGA females with the beachy waves and evening make-up pretending they know ANYTHING. Even the few with some modicum of education. The administration is churning them out of some factory somewhere.

usually if you ask experts why an empire fell they’ll say it’s nuanced and multifaceted, so i think it’s kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like “oh they took the idiot train to moronsville”
