The skull of a Flat-tail horned lizard (Phrynosoma mcallii), close relative of the 'Texas horny-toad', native to the Sonoran desert. Unlike the thorny spikes on the body that are made of modified skin keratin, head spikes (horns) are bony skeletal structures covered in keratin. (📷: Emily Chebul)

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
If you haven't yet checked out HHA, I highly recommend taking a scroll through and finding some new artists to follow. Thanks to @aimeecozza.com and team for putting this together 🤍 Here's my listing!

Hey y'all, I hope you've kept cool this summer! Lee and I just had a big, necessary move into a new apartment! We're so happy with the new place, but unfortunately I'm not paid for days off. New Witch Mark slots and a new PWYW comm for silly creatures have opened up! Anything helps us, thank you!!
Echinopsis cactus putting on a show in my backyard this morning 🌵
I have so much trouble with waking up at 1-3am and just... not falling back asleep as my brain runs itself in circles. It's a huge problem on workdays cause I have to be up early. I might have to talk to my doctor about sleeping pills but I need something that won't make me groggy the next day x.x

This place is real, but it's also an amalgamation of memories. The way we remember a landscape can be very different from its literal appearance. Some things become larger and clearer, others smaller and fuzzier. 🧵
Here are some fetching photos of the sea
Aldeburgh was the inspiration for Seaburgh. The Wyndham is a house James and his aunt visited, the white lion is the bear in a warning to the curious. The pump was installed by James' father and Martello Tower which features at the end of the story I think (light bad for photoing it)
Went to Skyrim yesterday, aka Artist's Point. 45 degrees F and misty with rain clouds. Too crowded for my taste but I'd love to go back in the off season 🥰
