Parliamentarians have clearly seen the benefits of remote work in connecting with colleagues, so it seems contradictory that the federal public service workers whose work is entirely laptop-based shouldn’t be able to also have a more flexible hybrid schedule.
I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

I agree strongly with this -- in that difficult moment, the possibility of collective effort was conceivable. Not everybody felt it, but many did. I think the political class did not like this one bit.

That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
