City Auditor should indeed amend this language in their guide. "We recommend your voter registration is current..." sure doesn't convey the strictness of the year minimum registration requirement in the charter itself.

Unfortunately, this requirement was missing from the Auditor's Office's requirements on their site, from multiple sections of their candidate guide, and missing entirely from their video webinar.

ICE is engaged in a very large escalation nationwide, with the agency claiming to be hitting record arrest numbers amid the return of quotas. This has gotten very little attention from the media because ICE learned lessons from the chaotic disasters of Kristi Noem’s tenure. Keep a watch.

ICE is surging in the Seattle area. (Map shows activity in the last week) Do you have your whistle with you?

Map of ICE sightings from iceout.org, 7/1-7/8, showing Puget sound area between Fort Lewis and Marysville.

for anyone who thinks it’s science fiction to suggest that Seattle or Portland could function if we tore out I-5 or other massive highways, worth pointing them to our neighbor to the morth, an economically thriving and livable city with virtually no big roads Americans would recognize as “freeways”

All those visiting Vancouver for the #WorldCup and cheering our public transit, walkable downtown, & vibrant waterfront, might be interested to know that almost everything noteworthy about our city-building began with the turning point rejection of the freeways that lobotomized so many other cities.

Sketch of the proposed waterfront freeway in downtown Vancouver that was rejected in the late 1960s/early 1970s. There are no freeways/highways within Vancouver city limits. The most important decision in Vancouver city-building history. #Vancouver #FIFA

The three players in this photo: 1. Nigerian heritage, grew up in England, and is only a citizen thanks to birthright citizenship. 2. Born + raised in Holland, has a dad who immigrated to the US from Suriname. 3. Said he wanted to “make people who look like me proud” while playing on Juneteenth
