Meanwhile Chinese fandom apparently has not discovered OT3s yet - especially not of the M/M/F kind. This makes me remember ca 2010 in Japan, where a doujinka had BIG WARNINGS that her dj included M/M/M, and she felt she had to warn me in particular, since she wasn't sure I could read the warnings.

Hm. 40 fics. HMMM. On the one hand: small fandoms are great! Grateful for crumbs, and statistically the fewer people are involved, the smaller your chances of ending up surrounded by assholes. On the other hand: 40. Total. 14 for my darling OT3. By a whole half dozen authors. That's. Not enough?

A Chinese translation thing that drives me all the way up the wall is when male names are transliterated, and female names are translated. For example I'm looking at 白玉堂 rendered as "Bai Yutang" (not "Jade Hall") but 丁月華 as "Moon Flower" (yes, without the Ding family name). Why. WHY. I hate it.

An illustration from The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants in translation, with a Chinese caption and then English: "Bai Yutang, the Sleek Rat".An illustration from the same book, with a woman doing a lovely sword move and her full name - Ding Yuehua - in Chinese. Meanwhile, English: "Moon Flower".Title plate: The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants by Shi Yukun and Yu Yue. Translated by Song Shouquan. English Text Edited by Esther Samson and Lance Samson.

I have processed SO MANY FEELINGS about the past year (grateful for therapy), and then today is the 1 year anniversary of my emergency surgery (yesterday was the anniversary of deciding to have the surgery!) and I had... Some more feelings. Being human. It's so much work. But yay I live! #NayeHealth

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

1072 tracks in half a dozen languages streamed and not A SINGLE ONE right for the vid I want to make. 😭 Vidding is the worst hobby.

My top July tracks from Deezer: 1072 tracks streamed.

As a perimenopausal woman with fallopian tubes who still has them after FIVE gut surgeries I'm... Well. I'm glad to see thr European statement on this only came out less than two months before my most recent surgery, so it's not like my colorectal & IBD surgeons knew about but ignored it.

The problem with watching so much Chef and My Fridge is that every time I see a Korean actor topless looking conventionally attractive I'm like... Wow, that's so much chicken breast and broccoli. How long has it been since you had a carb, sir. Please you must be starving. 🥲

That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.

We report: we see half a dozen sunrises on the train. The sun emerges from behind the clouds, casting an orange glow across the whole sky, then the clouds swallow it back. Minutes later, another place, the shape of the clouds has changed, but it happens again the exact same way.

Digital painting of a sunrise sky, large swathes of grey clouds spread out across a pastel blue and orange sky. The clouds are all different shapes, some long and smooth, others tall and bubbling. In the middle of the frame, some clouds are bright red, and bright sunshine is coming through. The horizon is dark, trees and buildings.

I recently recommended The Repair shop to a friend, and they came back like "uhhhh, it's good, but, I have been crying a lot?" and I realized that I forgot to say that yes, I cry at almost every episode of the show where they repair small objects. So that's just a warning for everyone else

oh shit you can currently watch The Repair Shop for free on Tubi and the Roku Channel! Let me please take this opportunity to encourage everyone here to watch The Repair Shop! people come with their Old Items, and a bunch of highly skilled craftspeople fix the Items

not enough people are out here talking about The Repair Shop!!! what about the sacred quality of objects that humans invest with their own history and emotions! what about the value of handcrafting processes that go back generations! what about the rich interconnections between craft and carework 😭

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

Me 12 hrs ago: I wonder what this wuxia listening skill's name means. The subs say "Silent World Within Earshot", but I'm not sure... Me now: Oh, this 2025 article "Poetic Footprints: Lu You’s Life Encounters and Emotional Transformations Along the Zhejiang East Canal" will really help me get it!

Haven't flown since 2019, partly because of flygskam, but honestly a huge reason is how miserable it's become. I'm not even comparing with the good old days of pre-9/11, but like. One (1) suitcase instead of 0 is $100. Wanna sit next to your travel companion? Pay up! Oh and we can't fly over Russia.

Once again telling Skuld about Someone Is Wrong On The Internet and also Kids These Days so my Bluesky isn't just me complaining about what people choose to like. (OK except if you have a fantastic M/M/F trio and decide the woman needs to go so you can enjoy a cootie-free M/M. That I WILL subtweet.)

Nooooo a roe deer rubbed its antlers all over our lovely little Hokkaido cherry tree that we planted our first spring here. It peeled off so much bark we're not sure it'll survive, even though it's not actually girdled. 😭 Advice from a Swedish heritage apple orchard is black plastic wrap so... 🤞

Bark rubbed off a tiny delicate tree trunk in chunks. The entire visible trunk is damaged.Black trash bag wrapped around the trunk, covering most of its length.

It's Friday! I can stay up as long as I want! I have Things I Want To Do! ...I am also yawning and rubbing my eyes like a sleepy toddler so I GUESS the sensible thing to do is go to bed. But not before I grumble about it.
