Just Ryan from BSC!

This clears the way for executive orders to do basically anything about voting by the way. If we do no build an independent socialist movement capable of seizing political power we are truly screwed

Wow that’s so cool that executive orders can modify the constitution if the corrupt Supreme Court says so :) I love liberal institutions they work great :)

Literally nobody, including MAGA, had any ideological commitment or pre-existing policy goal of picking a fight with Canada. This is all happening solely because the crazy old man randomly blurted it out. And that makes it worse. There's nothing to negotiate, no aim to satisfy. He's just insane.

Gonna try to get back to streaming some next weekend, mostly due to the job stuff I've been taking a bit of time off but we'll see how next week goes. I MAY (as in possibly, not sure yet) stream the Gamescom opening night thing on Tuesday but I have a hard cutoff at 3PM for that (Starts at 1:30pm)

I am becoming incredibly exhausted of this pattern: many people: "AI sucks!" Very Smart Person: ah but have you considered (distinct application of ML or statistical modeling that has no real relationship to what the tech industry is marketing as, and people broadly perceive as, "AI")

apropos of nothing, here's a terrific feature about a meaningful, life-saving use of artificial intelligence, which I have been thinking about for over a year. it's just extremely stupid to say that AI has zero benefits even if you don't think it should be used in writing (which I don't)!

This shit is why you can't separate continuing to financially support the Harry Potter IP (whether by buying the games, merch, watching the new TV show when its out) from the consequences of what JK Rowling does with that money She's become so stiflingly powerful that even private docs arent safe

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.

A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottom
