Decades ago, PFB appeared while we were burning a Christmas tree and random brush in a barrel. They were super nice as they made me put the fire out with the hose I had handy. Then one of them gave me a tip - "if you had some wieners or something, this would be a cooking fire and you'd be legal."

Just want to acknowledge here that while I wasn’t aware of the burn ban, it was still a dumb thing to do and you gotta check these things. Especially me. I didn’t, I own that, and I am really grateful for the responders on Engine 18 who showed up to make sure the situation was under control.

Did some modeling at the dais to show you what would happens if we pass my amendment: we’d generate free cash flow from the current encumbrances of Moda fees net of debt service on a $120MM bond issuance. No PCEF $, no general fund obligation and reduced public contribution by 2/3rds

Data table that shows revenues earned from Moda activities and cash flow at different interest rates net of debt service for a $120 m bond

We’re hearing testimony on the Moda term sheet today. I have filed an amendment that seeks to do two broad things: 1. empower the Joint Authority to limit expenditure public funds in the public interest with transparency and accountability 2. Reduce City’s commitment from $400M -> $120MM

...did Brian Owendoff just say "the Moda Center has over $600M in deferred maintenance" a week after the Blazers' Dewayne Hankins said the Moda Center has NO deferred maintenance..? hmm... 🤔

For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.

🚨 🚨 🚨 🚨 PRR shows the city asked Blazers the questions we all have been wondering, but somehow none of these made it into the draft term sheet. So who decided to remove or dilute the City’s June negotiating demands—and what did the Blazers, the NBA, or political leadership say that caused it?

Bombshell new report out from my investigators this morning spanning our four year investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s financial records. This report shows exactly how Wall Street protected Epstein and enabled his sex trafficking for decades. Mega thread following with some key points:

Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, BofA Enabled Epstein, Wyden Report Says

Democrat Ron Wyden cited nonpublic documents held by the US Treasury in a report that says banks delayed reporting suspicious financial transactions and calls for tougher anti-money-laundering rules, ...

The Cracking is always Downward with these ghouls. "Let's punish the people with the least power in this situation." We don't even know how the fire started yet. No thought of Cracking Upward on the real estate speculators who own these dangerous buildings (who are the real victims, I guess).

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

It's weird seeing even pretty left-leaning liberals get so bent out of shape about things like subsidized groceries or free public transit while just accepting basically infinite gov expenditures on objectively horrible and destructive shit as unassailable or even necessary.

If you ever feel disheartened that other people don't recognize your value, keep in mind that multiple record labels turned down The Jimi Hendrix Experience when they had the finished version of Hey Joe in hand.
