Yesterday I listened to Jerome Moross’ & John Treville Latouche’s “The Golden Apple” from 1954 which combines elements of both the Iliad and the Odyssey with the backdrop of turn-of-the-20th-century America. It also contains the doomer’s national anthem!

Literally me and mom every few minutes when we rewatched “Across the Spider-Verse” tonight: “I don’t remember seeing this movie in theaters” “YES YOU DID MOM, YOU TOOK ME”
Yip Harburg when writing lyrics to “Something Sort of Grandish” for “Finian’s Rainbow”:
Just keep piling on suffixes, you’re sure to get the word you want eventifically
once i was a sound-sweep with sonovac vacuuming sonic debris once i was a sound-sweep, i can’t go back to that cacophony brother, can you spare a decibel
I wonder if, in their lifetimes, Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg knew how much mileage the world at large would get out of their little ditty “Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead”
I hate that storyboards have become expected to be final clean animation poses with breakdowns in perfect perspective. this is not how it was supposed to be. let the animators animate! (I say as both a boarder and an animator)
I love how the previous generations of storyboard artists were allowed to draw silly cartoon characters on flat wobbly backgrounds, but now we have to learn how to draw the most realistic anime proportions and perspective ever to even be considered for a job
been watching defunctland in the background lately and why does every disney ride rebrand look like this
man I’m so glad my parents don’t have BlueSky because whenever they follow me on Insta and FB, it feels very limiting to what I can post.
Listened to “Jamaica” (or “Pigeon Island” as Harburg called it early on) today and this song has been in my head since this morning.

Is there any way any sequences in AoStH beyond the pilot were animated in-house? A few cuts in "Sno Problem" definitely don't look like they were animated in Asia.
man it feels great to be drawing again, I’m really happy with the last two #sketch #sketches #sketchbook #artistsonBlueSky
I can’t stop thinking about this winter jacket Annette wore a few times in merchandise in the ‘58 season.

A hearty happy 80th to The Great Piggy Bank Robbery, forever my favorite cartoon!
Every movie post on Twitter: "When Thomas Mitchell announces the end of the civil war in Gone with the Wind, the reactions of all actors were genuine as none of them had been told about the outcome of the war."
“Verify your age” I remember seeing new movies mainly through 35mm prints with grain before they switched to Digital Cinema Packages (or DCP).
"Verify your age" I remember ashtrays in the armrests of airplane seats.
Another animation exercise in Procreate Dreams with Madeline and some effects. Wanted to keep things more loose than last time though ^^
Why is it that whenever a power outage happens in a county, homes are the ones that are the most affected and not something like stores? Genuinely asking rn.
