The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer
Many Americans are hurting right now because of the shutdown, but caving to Republicans won’t end the hurt. Trump and his lapdogs continue to assert that they alone have the power to slash whatever programs they don’t like. Deals with this regime are meaningless.
Yes, Mr. President: You’re right. We do have “the worst health care” of any major country. Despite spending twice as much per capita, we are the only major country not to guarantee health care to all as a human right. The solution: Medicare for All.
Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people. Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.
Also this would certainly help to ameliorate the current housing crisis in the city (PS: No one's moving)

Someday there will be a reckoning for the serial killings that the US government is engaged in on the oceans. Another admin should not refuse to extradite indicted officials to Intl Criminal Courts and senior military officers “just following orders” should not be exempted.
I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.
Anyone who would so nonchalantly tear down a huge chunk of the White House would sell ANY and all top secret information to any foreign power.
It's hard to overstate how fully engaged Chicago and the surrounding suburbs are in this ICE madness. There are neighborhood watch alerts, spontaneous crowds gathering outside schools at pick up & drop off plus madly blowing whistles and honking car horns, this city is fighting back and hard.
